In our day-to-day operations, we follow applicable Ukrainian and EU legislation, as well as globally recognised environmental and sustainability standards.
Our primary objective is to minimise both OTP Bank’s direct impact on the environment and its indirect impact through the supply chain, third parties and our clients. Beyond mitigating adverse effects, we strive to create positive environmental outcomes that not only help preserve the environment but also contribute to its restoration and long-term resilience for future generations.

In our operations and business activities, we focus on key environmental areas where we can make the greatest contribution to protecting the environment:
- addressing climate change through greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) management and decarbonisation initiatives across all emission scopes;
- energy efficiency and energy independence;
- reducing GHG emissions and other pollutants associated with transportation;
- promoting the responsible and efficient use of natural resources, including paper and printing cartridges;
- effective waste management;
- sustainable water use;

Old batteries – for recycling!
One battery that gets into nature without processing can pollute 16 square meters of land with toxic substances. That is why OTP Bank, together with the public organization "Batteries, get in", implements a green project to collect used power cells, which are then sent to the plants for processing in Europe.
