Implementation of corporate social responsibility principles is an exceptionally important part of strategy of OTP BANK JSC. Financial institution has a clear understanding of its social mission and its part within the society and country, emphasized ESG manager of the Bank during Business Social Selfie: meeting about sustainability with ESG managers from business, organized by Crowe Mikhailenko company with support of “Paragraf Social Consulting”.
“OTP BANK is not only a responsible provider of quality financial services and one of the leading employers on the labor market, but also an active participant in public relations. In 2022, the Bank created the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity program and implements significant initiatives to support the civilian population and defenders. More than 30 projects have already been successfully implemented and we are working on a number more”, - M. Oliinyk told.
The total amount of OTP Bank’s aid in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war has exceeded UAH 198 million. In order to be as effective as possible, the financial institution focused its efforts on supporting the health care sector, helping orphans and children left without parents. At the summer OTP Kids Camp in Budapest, the Bank healed more than 100 young Ukrainians affected by the war. The Bank helps boarding houses and institutions where children with special educational needs study, provides medical institutions with equipment.
Great attention is paid to supporting the direction of prosthetics and rehabilitation of Ukrainian heroes. OTP BANK transferred more than UAH 33 million to the Superhumans Center for the rehabilitation of people with amputations, as well as the operation of an educational center where prosthetics are taught.
The ESG manager noted effective cooperation with "3D print army" - a project in which the Bank's employees helped purchase 3D printers and plastic for printing products necessary for the defense of the country. "Such interaction made it possible to produce parts and equipment necessary for the military from almost three tons of plastic. The total amount of donations for this project is about UAH 6 million," - added Maksym Oliinyk.
The Bank implements environmental and educational initiatives. In particular, together with the public organization "Batteries, dispose" implements a "green" project on the collection of used power cells. The financial institution supported the UCulture team in preparing a series of lectures on the history of Ukrainian money, joined the All-Ukrainian information campaign on payment security #Cybersecurityoffinances of the National Bank of Ukraine and State Service of Special communications.
The OTP BANK team holds corporate donor days on a regular basis, actively supporting the donor movement in Ukraine and replenishing the blood reserves of medical institutions.
To remind, The Bank has planned and is carrying out a number of activities within creation of its own system of managing social and environmental issues, harmonized with the requirements of the European Union and international financial institutions.
