OTP BANK sent 185 kg of used batteries for recycling in 2024

During 2024, 185 kg, or about 9,000 pieces of used batteries of various types, were collected in the branches of OTP BANK JSC as part of the environmental project.

The "green" program for the collection of used power cells has been implemented in OTP BANK since 2021 together with the public organization "Batteries, get in!". In total, since the beginning of the project, the employees of the Bank and its clients have handed over 460 kg of used batteries for recycling.

As reported on the website "Batteries, get in!", as a result of a joint experiment with the Lviv Polytechnic team, they established that one 1-finger battery poisons an average of 16 m² of land. Therefore, the Bank and its employees actively support the global movement aimed at protecting the environment from the toxic effects of used energy cells.

All batteries collected in branches are transferred by the Bank to the partner "Batteries, get in!". Depending on the type, the batteries are processed at Recupyl in Poland, Accurec in Germany, Fenix in Great Britain and Erasteel in France.

For a complete list of branches where special boxes for collecting used batteries are installed in client areas, see the website.
