Comfort and care for children: OTP Bank Helps Ukraine supported renovation of a center in the Chernihiv region
Donors and volunteers of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine project helped to carry out repairs in the dormitories at the Udaytsi Educational and Rehabilitation Center in the Chernihiv region to provide a more comfortable and welcoming environment for 65 children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
Within the project, UAH 250,000 was raised to finance the replacement of old wooden windows with modern double-glazed ones, installation of new interior doors, ceiling and floor painting, and refurbishment of bathrooms.
“How often do we think about the comfort of our own home — smooth walls and ceilings, windows that open easily, warm floors, or functional furniture? Probably not often, because people usually take such everyday comfort for granted until something breaks. For us, it was crucial to ensure that the children living at the Udaytsi Educational and Rehabilitation Center — those with intellectual and physical developmental disorders — could enjoy comfort and dignity in their daily lives. Warmth, coziness, and a modern interior are a must-have, and we are delighted that, thanks to our benefactors, this center has become a truly comfortable space for its residents,” said Lesia Syrota, Team Leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charitable project and Head of Retail Sales and Network Management Department at OTP BANK.
The OTP Bank Helps Ukraine program has been operating since August 2022, implementing 43 charitable initiatives to date. Currently, the project is raising funds to purchase exercise and rehabilitation equipment for children with disabilities living at the Vinnytsia Regional Specialized Baby Home for Children with CNS Lesions and Mental Disorders.
