Partnership for good: OTP BANK recognized by the “Blagomay” Charitable Foundation for systematic support of children
OTP BANK JSC received an honorary award from the Blagomay Charitable Foundation for its significant contribution to supporting a dignified childhood and equal opportunities for children in Ukraine during the war. The award was presented by the Foundation — a long-standing partner of the Bank — during a ceremonial event held on the eve of St. Nicholas Day.
“Supporting children is our conscious responsibility and a key priority. At OTP BANK, we strive to ensure that every child feels protected, has the opportunity to live in proper conditions and develop even in such challenging times for the country. Cooperation with the Blagomay Foundation allows us to strengthen this support and make charitable projects larger in scale and more effective, and most importantly – more tangible for those who need them,” said Viktoriia Myslyva, Head of Private Banking at OTP BANK, who took part in the event.
Since 2022, OTP BANK has been implementing its own charitable project – OTP Bank Helps Ukraine. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Bank has managed to implement 50 charitable initiatives, a significant portion of which is aimed at supporting children.
One of these initiatives, which has become a strong annual tradition, is the OTP Kids Camp. The camp is organized by OTP BANK JSC in partnership with OTP Bank Hungary, the Blagomay Charitable Foundation, and JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” to give Ukrainian children the opportunity to rest and recover. The first camp took place in Hungary in 2023, providing recreation for 150 children from frontline regions. In 2024, 117 children attended the summer camp in Budapest. This summer, 160 children joined the OTP Kids Camp, and for the first time, the camp also welcomed 40 children in autumn.
The OTP Bank Helps Ukraine community has been consistently implementing the “First Embroidered Shirts” initiative. Over two years, 854 children received their first embroidered shirt for Vyshyvanka Day.
The OTP Bank Helps Ukraine team strives to support as many children as possible by implementing long-term projects, while also paying attention to the urgent needs of child institutions and facilities for orphans and children deprived of parental care. Recently, the program helped repair the dormitory of the Udaytsi Educational and Rehabilitation Center, where 65 children live. On the eve of the New Year holidays, OTP BANK employees became St. Nicholas’ helpers and fulfilled the wishes of the children from this center, as well as the Chernihiv Social and Psychological Rehabilitation Center. Warm clothes, shoes, blankets, pillows, power banks, construction sets, dolls, headphones, sweets, and other gifts worth over UAH 750,000 were purchased by the Bank’s employees using their own funds and delivered to the children.
Within the framework of OTP Bank Helps Ukraine, the Bank has also allocated: UAH 250,000 for medical equipment for the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Center at the Vinnytsia Regional Specialized Children’s Home; UAH 156,000 for a sports ground at the children’s residential care facility in Stryzhavka (Vinnytsia region); UAH 143,000 for new windows at the medical unit of the Mostyshche Special School (Kyiv region); UAH 84,000 to improve living conditions at the “Nadiia” Educational and Rehabilitation Center (Cherkasy region). All charitable initiatives can be found at the link.
The total contribution of OTP Group in Ukraine to supporting the state and Ukrainians since February 2022 amounts to UAH 270 million.
As a reminder, in 2024 the Blagomay Charitable Foundation also awarded OTP BANK a a “Charity Oscar” for its significant contribution to supporting a dignified childhood and equal opportunities for children in Ukraine. In 2023, the Bank received a similar award for the highest number of charitable initiatives.
