OTP BANK received “AGRO Champions. 10 Years in Agribusiness” Award
OTP BANK JSC has been recognized as a leader in financial support for Ukraine’s agricultural sector by the online publication AgroPortal.ua. During the 17th International Conference “Managing Agribusiness in Ukraine” (#DoAgro25), representatives of the media presented OTP BANK with the “AGRO Champions. 10 Years in Agribusiness” award for its significant achievements over the past decade. The nominees for the reputational award were selected by an Expert Council.
During the award ceremony, Pavlo Huzyr, Head of Alternative Sales Channels of OTP BANK’s Agro Factory, emphasized that OTP BANK’s role today is to support agricultural producers in challenging conditions by financing not only their current operational needs but also investment solutions aimed at sustainable development. In particular, this includes investments in alternative energy sources, agricultural machinery, and farmland.
“We are seeing an improvement in the financial standing of our borrowers. This season, Ukrainian small and medium-sized agricultural producers attracted 50% of financing for working capital and 50% for investment purposes, including energy-efficient solutions, processing, renewal of agricultural machinery fleets, and the acquisition of agricultural land. This shows that our agriculture can remain resilient even in difficult circumstances. Today, one of the key objectives for the government and the agricultural market is to ensure a qualitative transition of Ukraine from an agrarian to an agro-industrial model and to increase export revenues from value-added products,” Pavlo Huzyr noted.
For many years, OTP BANK has remained a reliable partner for agribusiness and one of the leaders in agricultural lending. Nearly ten years ago, the Bank, in cooperation with the IFC, launched the Agro Factory project, which enables farmers to quickly and conveniently access favorable financing, including loans secured by Agrarian Receipts. Over this period, the Bank has provided more than UAH 10 billion in financing to 800 agricultural enterprises with land banks ranging from 200 to 10,000 hectares, including more than UAH 5 billion secured by Agrarian Receipts.
Within the framework of the project, dozens of partner programs operate with suppliers of seeds, crop protection products, and fertilizers. OTP BANK also finances the purchase of agricultural land and, in cooperation with the EBRD, offers cashback programs for investments in energy-efficient equipment.
