OTP Bank received NBU gratitude for participation in the #ShakhraiGudbay campaign

OTP Bank received gratitude from the NBU for its active participation in the all-Ukrainian information campaign to combat payment fraud #ShakhraiGudbay, the purpose of which is to teach Ukrainians the security rules of non-cash and online payments.

This week, the next stage of the campaign about skimming started, which is a type of fraud that involves copying information from a payment card using special devices installed in an ATM.

At the same time, as noted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine, “in the world, more than a half of card frauds relates to social engineering: people themselves transfer money to fraudsters or disclose their card details to them. The challenge for central banks of all the countries during the quarantine period and the massive transition to online is to protect people from such cases. "

The #ShakhraiGudbay project, organized by the National Bank of Ukraine, has united over 60 partners around the information campaign - banks, payment systems, law enforcement agencies, mobile operators, online stores, logistics companies, utilities to tell jointly about the payment security basic rules to the largest possible audience.

More details about the project can be found https://bank.gov.ua/promo/stopfraud/#section-7.
