OTP Bank joined the charity initiative of the National Bank of Ukraine "Coins for Children", the main purpose of which is to raise funds for the treatment of children with cancer. The bank will accept coins with a value of 25 kopecks that have gone out of circulation. The equivalent of the amount collected in the bank's branches will be transferred to the Tabletochki Charity Foundation, which has been helping children with cancer for 10 years.

Coins can be handed over during September at the cash desks of the following branches of OTP Bank:

  • Kyiv, Zhylyanska street, 43;
  • Lviv, I. Franko street, 20;
  • Odessa, Bunina street, 10;
  • Dnipro, Shevchenko street, 53;
  • Zaporizhia, Sobornyi Avenue, 66;
  • Kharkiv, Bath lane, 1.

It is expected that the most active participants in the charity campaign will be schoolchildren. Therefore the NBU informed the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine about the campaign for further transfer of information to educational institutions.

Together with OTP Bank, other Ukrainian banks will take part in the campaign. With their help, the NBU plans to raise UAH 40 million. Currently, according to the regulator, Ukrainians keep 400 million hryvnias in 25 kopeck coins.

It will be recalled that from October 1, 2020, 25 kopeck coins are not means of payment. After the end of the "Coins for Children" campaign, only authorized banks will be able to accept these coins from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2023.
