A Team That Makes a Difference: OTP Bank Turns Blood Donation into a Shared Mission
Blood cannot be manufactured or purchased - it can only be donated by people. Ahead of World Blood Donor Day, observed on 14 June, the team at JSC “OTP BANK” traditionally joined a corporate blood donation initiative organized in partnership with DonorUA.
As part of the campaign, 47 Bank employees donated 21 liters of blood to the Kyiv Regional Blood Service Center.
“Blood donation is a unique and critically important form of support. Saving a life requires willingness and just a few minutes of time that can be decisive for someone in need. Every donation gives patients a chance to receive essential treatment, recover after surgery, or heal from severe injuries. We are proud of our colleagues who take part in corporate donor days and demonstrate through their own example that compassion has a very real impact,” said Lesia Syrota, Team Leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine project and Director of the Retail Sales and Network Management Department at OTP BANK.
According to statistics, one donor can save up to three lives. Therefore, the blood collected during this corporate donor day will help 140 Ukrainians.
OTP Bank has been holding corporate donor days since 2021, consistently promoting a culture of blood donation. For employees, these initiatives have already become an important tradition, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to patient care and recovery.
As a reminder, last year the Bank held corporate donor days in February and June in partnership with DonorUA. On those occasions, employees helped replenish blood supplies at the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.
