Charity campaign “Independent”: raising UAH 1.5 million for combat medic backpacks

To mark Ukraine’s Independence Day, OTP BANK JSC and the Leleka-Ukraine Charitable Foundation have launched the “Independent” charity campaign aimed at raising UAH 1.5 million to equip combat medics with specialized medical backpacks.

“In the field, in dugouts, while awaiting evacuation and during evacuation itself, every minute counts. A combat medic’s backpack must be durable and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. It must contain high-quality hemorrhage control equipment, dressings, needles, splints, and many other items needed to treat different types of injuries, all organized in a way that allows them to be found within seconds. Each backpack in skilled hands is a chance to save an injured person’s life and health,” said Iryna Huk, co-founder of the Leleka-Ukraine Charitable Foundation.

There are several ways to support the “Independent” charity campaign:

  • make a direct donation through the OTP Bank UA mobile app;
  • create a fundraising campaign via the “Kupa” feature in the app and invite friends, colleagues, and family members to contribute;
  • participate in the charity auction and bid on unique items, including a T-shirt signed by Andriy Shevchenko, jewelry from the limited-edition “Wings” collection by designer Tetiana Chorna, an online coffee chat with actress Rymma Ziubina, and more;
  • make a charitable donation at any OTP BANK branch.

“Our joint campaign with the Leleka-Ukraine Charitable Foundation will help direct support where it is needed most. We believe that by combining the efforts of our customers, partners, and everyone who cares, we can provide combat medics with high-quality equipment essential for saving lives on the front line. Every contribution is an expression of support and gratitude to the people who are the first to help in the most difficult moments. I encourage everyone who cares to join the ‘Independent’ campaign and become part of this important initiative supporting combat medics,” said Lesia Syrota, team leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine program and director of retail sales and network management at OTP BANK.
