OTP Bank continues to support farmers and offers flexible financing solutions for business development

JSC OTP Bank continues to support agricultural producers by offering an individual approach to financing and solutions tailored to the needs of each client. This was highlighted by Olga Volkova, Director of Sales for Medium and Small Corporate Clients at OTP Bank, during the Agro Finance Summit conference.

“When challenges emerged around logistics, product storage, and pricing, we received numerous requests regarding the possibility of postponing loan repayments. Today, this issue concerns virtually every client. Our main task is therefore to remain a reliable partner and source of support for businesses. We understand that market difficulties may prevent clients from selling their products on time and generating the necessary cash flow. That is why we are prepared to seek flexible solutions and support our clients as they navigate this challenging period,” Olga Volkova emphasized.

Since the beginning of the year, OTP Bank has approved more than UAH 4.5 billion in new financing limits for agricultural producers, with half of this amount allocated to small and medium-sized farms.

The Bank is also actively developing financing secured by agricultural receipts, enabling farmers to obtain funding against future harvests, as well as partnership programmes that provide financing for seasonal agricultural inputs with interest rates starting from 0.1% per annum.

According to Olga Volkova, financing decisions are made individually, taking into account the characteristics of each farm, its financial position, and credit history. Excessive debt burdens and difficulties servicing previous loans remain the most common reasons for declining financing applications.

She also noted strong demand among agricultural producers for government support programmes and investments in energy independence. An increasing number of farms are investing in solar power plants, helping improve operational efficiency and strengthen business resilience.

“As long as government financing programmes remain available, clients will continue to make maximum use of them. We see that support in this area remains particularly important for agricultural producers today,” she added.

Concluding her remarks, Olga Volkova stressed that the agricultural sector will remain one of OTP Bank’s strategic priorities. The Bank will continue to develop financial solutions that help farmers maintain resilience, implement investment projects, and confidently grow their businesses even in conditions of ongoing uncertainty.
