The rules of foreign exchange market during the war
The foreign exchange market – is one of the most exciting topics for financial consumers during the war. Therefore, we have collected for you the comments of the National Bank of Ukraine on which operations are currently temporarily limited and which have remained unchanged.
On February 24, 2022, the NBU fixed the official exchange rate of UAH/USD dollar at the level of UAH 29.25/$. The rates for other currencies are set by NBU daily. The banks` exchange rates may differ from the official NBU rate.
Foreign currency sale bu the banks was temporarily prohibited, but starting from April 14, the NBU allowed it with some restrictions. In particular, the rate of foreign cash sales cannot differ from the official one by more than 10% and be lower than it.

Yes, but not the Russian or Belarusian rubles. The National Bank of Ukraine has not imposed any restrictions on other foreign currencies' sales.
Transfers from own cards to cards of individuals abroad are allowed in the amount of up to UAH 100 ths in equivalent per month, i.e. about $3.4 ths. However, please, note that the limit covers payment cards transactions for assets acquisition that belongs to quasi cash.
One can transfer funds abroad without restrictions as payment for education and expenses related to the death of citizens, medical treatment and transportation of patients.
In addition, to facilitate the volunteers` movements, individuals may transfer foreign currency to purchase a range of goods abroad within the monthly limit of UAH 400 ths in equivalent (more than $13,500).
Such items include bulletproof vests, helmets, hardhats, military and tactical uniforms, military and tactical shoes, protective clothing, optical surveillance devices, unmanned aerial vehicles, sleeping bags, mats and pre-hospital care equipment.
The daily cash withdrawal limit in Ukraine is UAH 100 ths. One can withdraw UAH from accounts in UAH, and foreign currency or UAH (after conversion) from foreign currency accounts.
The same limit is applied abroad for withdrawals from foreign currency accounts. However, the receipt of cash from a hryvnia account is limited to UAH 100,000 per month.
There are no restrictions. You can pay with Ukrainian banks cards for goods and services in retail stores and on the Internet without restrictions both in Ukraine and abroad.
